According to the statistics released by CNN, colleges and universities in at least 36 states in the United States have reported that more than 20000 students and staff have been infected with the new coronavirus. New York City Mayor debrasio said he had reached an agreement with the teachers’ Union to postpone the reopening of face-to-face courses in New York City until September 21. Distance learning for all students will start on September 16, and online courses and face-to-face courses will be adopted on September 21.
The incidence rate and mortality weekly published by the CDC journal has recently released a new study showing that a significant proportion of people in the United States seem to be unaware of the infection if they are infected with the new crown virus. The study found that 6% of the first-line medical staff in the United States had antibodies to the new coronavirus, confirming that they had been infected with the new coronavirus. Novel coronavirus pneumonia was reported by 29% of the people in February 1st. 69% of them did not report positive diagnosis, and 44% did not believe they had ever had the new crown pneumonia.
The report pointed out that the causes leading to the infection of new coronavirus among front-line medical staff may be that some of the infected people have mild or even asymptomatic symptoms, but have not reported symptoms, and some infected people may not be able to receive regular virus testing.
